This HRA Spotlight provides an introduction to the German academic system, tailored for both doctoral researchers and postdocs. This talk will delve into topics such as traditional and new academic career paths, the research funding landscape as well as the implications of the WissZeitVG on career planning. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how to navigate academic life in Germany efficiently and make informed decisions about their next steps.
Recommended Career Stage - Final-Year Doctoral Candidates and Early-Stage Postdocs: Doctoral researchers in the final year of their PhD and postdoctoral researchers in the early stages of their postdoctoral phase, typically up to 2-3 years after completing their doctorate.
HRA Spotlight: The Hamburg Research Academy offers regular short information sessions on topics central to the doctoral and the postdoctoral career phase. Experts provide basic information and answer your questions.
This event is open to all HRA members. However, the content is geared to the needs of the listed career stage. Participation is free of charge, prior registration is requested. For further information please read the conditions of participation.
