HRA spotlight – Starting a PhD in Hamburg. Information and Helpful Tips
The decision to start a PhD project comes with many important questions: What are the paths to a doctorate at Hamburg’s higher education institutions and which type of doctorate is right for me? How do I choose a subject and a supervisor? Where do I apply for a job or where can I get funding for my project? In short, what is doing a PhD all about?
This HRA information session is for (international) master students, who are thinking about pursuing doctoral research in Hamburg and wanting to plan the next steps in good time. You will learn about the prerequisites and the course of a doctorate and about organizational preparation. Beyond, this event gives an insight into career paths from doctoral studies to professorship in Germany and thus explores what should be considered when planning your (academic) career.
HRA spotlight: The Hamburg Research Academy offers regular short information sessions on topics central to the doctoral and the postdoctoral career phase. Experts provide basic information and answer your questions.
