E-Learning: Starting Your PhD or Postdoc in Hamburg Successfully

Beginning a doctoral or postdoctoral journey often involves a lot to manage. Beyond organizing your research tasks, it is important to also keep an eye on other relevant aspects that arise during this crucial phase of your career. 

In collaboration with TwentyOne Skills, we provide support to facilitate your onboarding and help you start your research journey in Hamburg effectively. Our goal is to offer a flexible online overview that gives you the opportunity to acquire important transferable skills for your daily work. 

Contents

You will receive full access to the TwentyOne Skills platform for three months. All offers on the platform are available in both German and English. They include flexible asynchronous learning across several subject areas:

• Working Methods: Time and self management, presentation skills, etc.
• Research Skills: Incorporating AI into research, science communication, etc.
• Career Development: Career planning, leadership skills, new work approaches, etc.
• German Academic System: Understanding science policy, framework conditions, landscape, and opportunities.

Depending on your immediate needs and interests, you can select relevant topics, get an overview through brief information sessions, or explore specific areas more deeply. This approach allows you to make informed decisions about which in person workshops or further training at the HRA will best support your research and professional development.
