This presentation training will give you key guidelines and practical tips on how to become better at presenting your research, or anything, really. It will take a very practical approach and will cover these topics:
Contents
- Cater to the brain! How to employ media in an optimized way
- Mind the gap by building bridges: How to connect to your audience
- Fidgeting, nausea, shaky hands: How to deal with nervous energy
- Post-workshop is pre-presentation: practical tips and exercises on how to continue improving your presentation skills on your own
Time table
- 27 February (face-to-face-event): 2:30-4:30 pm + circa 2-3 hours of self-scheduled work, peer feedback and short individual feedback sessions until the next session
- 6 March (online): 2:30-4:00 pm + circa 2-3 hours of self-scheduled work, peer feedback and short individual feedback sessions until the next session
- 13 March (online): 2:30-4:30 + optional 15 minutes of individual feedback
- Time frame for individual meeting slots: 2-3 weeks after the final session. Will be scheduled between second and last session.
HRA’s Project for Research Communication: This workshop is part of a larger research communication project which is funded by the Claussen-Simon-Stiftung.

Requirements for participation:
- Attendance: Participation is only possible, if you can guarantee an uninterrupted attendance.
- Attention: Online events require the same undivided attention as face-to-face events. Please refrain from parallel activities.
- Interaction: In general HRA events are interactive and require your active participation.
- Visibility: Please turn on your camera, if possible. Especially in our workshops, this is essential for a productive working environment.

Trainer:
Anna Ross is the co-founder of grasshopper kreativ. The company specializes in strategic creative communication, media production and training and has a strong focus in science communication. Anna brings 10+ years of experience in content creation and teaching to the table. The Tübingen- and Yale-educated creative strategist is passionate about inspiring people to share knowledge and communicate their passion. When she is not on her phone or mapping out ideas in her bullet journal, you might catch her balling on a court near you or galloping through the Mongolian grasslands.
